Efficient turbo expanders solutions for natural gas networks

Turboden offers advanced gas expander solutions to significantly enhance the energy efficiency of natural gas transportation and distribution networks. These innovative turbo expanders produce clean electricity by recovering and converting the energy released during the pressure reduction process as natural gas transitions from high-pressure delivery pipelines down to the lower pressures required by residential, commercial or industrial end-users.

Generating power with turbo expanders

Instead of simply dissipating the energy from gas pressure reduction, turbo expanders allow capturing and converting it into useful electrical power. This environmentally friendly technology optimizes the gas distribution process while generating clean electricity as a byproduct of regular network operations.

Unlike the reduction stations (still present in by-pass to the turboexpander, for safety reasons, as a redundant system), the turboexpanders exploit the pressure drop to produce electricity, improving the energy efficiency of the entire gas distribution system.
